The Bilingual Montessori School of Sharon provides an outstanding program in a warm loving bilingual atmosphere that helps each child to become innovative thinkers, capable, confident, creative, caring, and happy. BMSS focuses on helping each child achieve his/her full potential by nurturing and stimulating that unique union of the mind and body through Academics, Drama, Cultural Arts, Music, Language, Math, Cultural, and Practical Life skills. The curriculum is directed by dedicated Guides in a setting of rustic serenity.
The Bilingual Montessori School of Sharon has a vast hands-on approach to learning. BMSS philosophy of education is capable of influencing all aspects of the child’s experience. The School’s curriculum is carefully tailored from the design and selection of materials to the selection and education of the class directress. This approach makes it easy for the child to become that special person he/she ought to be. The children are encouraged to develop their observation skills by doing many types of activities that include but not limited to the use of the five senses, kinetic movement, spatial refinement, small and large motor skill coordination, and concrete knowledge that leads later to abstraction. In a Montessori classroom, the students quickly learn to examine a problem carefully, seeking the possibilities, and discovering the solution. Each method, each exercise, and every piece of equipment used in the classroom is design for the children’s inherent desire to learn.
The Bilingual Montessori School of Sharon creates a legacy of childhood happiness for the child by instilling love and joy in their hearts while learning another language. The sensitive periods represent a critical point of a child’s development. The sensitive period for language occurs from birth to about age six. It is at this time that the child learns the primary language spoken in the home. He also has the ability to learn and fluently speak other languages. The French instruction begins when children enter the school at fifteen months of age which establishes vocabulary and language interest at an early age. This allows the child to develop early linguistics awareness which they will carry and throughout their adult life.
The Bilingual Montessori School of Sharon embraces diversity and welcomes families from every corner of the world. Our French Bilingual program attracts local and international parents and especially families from Europe residing in Massachusetts. Our Sharon Campus serves families in Sharon, Canton, Walpole, Foxboro, Easton, Mansfield, Norwood, and other surrounding towns.
