Dress Code
The purpose of a dress code is to minimize the influence of superficial matters in a Montessori community that places high value on the healthy development of mind, body, and spirit. A standard of appearance emphasizes the seriousness of our Montessori mission.
Dress Code for Boys
- Shirts with collars or turtle necks – must be tucked in; no “T” shirts
- Khaki, corduroy, or dress pants, preferably with a belt but without cargo pockets or extra loops
- No sweatshirt; outerwear may not be worn while in class
- Socks and properly-fitted shoes – no boots, hiking shoes, or sneakers
- All boys must wear the navy blue sweaterwith the school emblem
Dress Code for Girls
- Navy blue school jumper available from Land’s End
- Shirts with collars, blouses, or turtlenecks; nothing sleeveless
- No sweatshirt; outerwear may not be worn while in class
- Tights, ankle socks, or kneesocks
- During the colder months, the girls may wear leggings under their jumpers.
- All girls must wear the navy blue cardiganwith the school emblem
