Message from the School
Montessori education was developed from Maria Montessori’s scientific observations of children’s almost effortless ability to absorb knowledge from their surroundings, as well as their tireless interest in manipulating materials. Every piece of equipment, every exercise, every method Dr. Montessori developed was based on what she observed children doing naturally, unassisted by adults.
To further enhance the self-creating process of the child, we have committed to the Montessori principles and practices. Our mission is to assist students in realizing their potential so they may become independent, self-motivated, and contributing members of the world.
Observing a child engaged in work is truly exhilarating! From my vantage point at the center of all of this wonderful activity, I am able to see the tremendous dedication to learning and raising our leaders of the future. The priceless human key to The Bilingual Montessori School of Sharon’s success is our teachers’ and administration’s concerted focus on the needs of the child coupled with the commitment, support, and trust we gain from our parents.
The Bilingual Montessori School of Sharon is a community. Every day, students and staff are involved in the celebration of fundamental human values. We respect individual differences; we value partnership and seek cooperative approaches in our planning and problem-solving. We believe in hard work and aim always for one’s personal best effort. We also rejoice in each other achievements and successes.
Our children learn and develop a strong sense of relationship with all members of the community. The nurturing of self-confidence and independence is a goal of every staff member. Their support and dedication help each student feel that they can through their own effort contribute to society and to the world around them.
